Questions to Ask Before Rhinoplasty

What worth asking, and what worth preparing — before you decide.

Aesthetic & plastic surgery · Jelan Clinic

A good consultation is a conversation you can steer. These questions are the ones that separate a clear plan from a sales pitch.

About the procedure

Who performs the operation? Who decides the technique? What is the plan if the first approach is not suitable? What does the procedure involve for somebody with my anatomy?

Ask for answers in writing, not just verbally.

About the plan and the money

What exactly is included — the procedure, the stay, transfers, medication, follow-up? What is not included? What happens if dates change?

Prices should come from a current, approved source, not from a message months old.

About recovery and risk

What should I expect in the first days? What would count as a complication worth calling about? Who answers that call, and how?

A clinic should be willing to talk about complications calmly. Any clinic that claims none should be treated with caution.

About follow-up

Who follows up after I fly home, through which channel, and for how long? Can I send photographs for a remote review?

Follow-up is part of the treatment, not a courtesy.

Frequently asked questions

How many questions is too many?

None. A clinic that is comfortable with scrutiny will welcome them.

Should I get a second opinion?

It is a reasonable thing to do, and a confident clinic will not object.

What if the answer is vague?

Ask again more specifically, or treat the vagueness as information about the clinic.

Do I need to decide quickly?

No. Urgency is a sales technique, not a medical requirement.
