Rhinoplasty at Jelan Clinic: Techniques, Planning and Patient Journey

How rhinoplasty is evaluated and planned at Jelan Clinic: facial analysis, nasal assessment, possible surgical approaches, preparation, recovery and follow-up.

This article explains how rhinoplasty is approached at Jelan Clinic: how a case is evaluated, how the plan is built, which techniques may be considered, and what the patient journey looks like from the first message to follow-up.

How a rhinoplasty case is evaluated

The evaluation begins with information rather than with a technique: photographs from several angles, a full medical history, previous surgery, medication, breathing concerns and a clear description of what you want to change and what you want to keep.

From that material, the medical team builds a picture of your nasal structure and of the balance between the nose and the rest of the face. Suitability and technique selection are clinical judgements made after this review.

Facial analysis and nasal structure assessment

Facial analysis looks at proportion and balance: how the nose relates to the forehead, the cheeks, the lips and the chin, and how the profile reads from the side as well as the front.

Nasal assessment looks at the structure itself — the bony vault, the cartilaginous middle third, the tip, the septum and the internal airway. Functional concerns such as obstruction are assessed separately and may change the plan.

Surgical planning

A plan states the goals in order of priority, the proposed approach, the tissues involved, and what is not realistically achievable. It also records the practical side: where the procedure takes place, the recommended stay, and how follow-up works.

Planning is individual. Two patients with a similar request can need two different approaches, depending on anatomy, previous surgery and healing characteristics.

Approaches and techniques that may be considered

Depending on the individual assessment, the medical team may consider an open or a closed approach, structural or preservation-oriented concepts, septal work where a functional issue is present, and ultrasonic (piezoelectric) instrumentation for particular bone-shaping steps.

Jelan Clinic lists primary rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty and piezoelectric rhinoplasty among its facial procedures. Which of these applies to you — and whether any technique is appropriate at all — is decided by the clinician handling your case after assessment, never from a website.

Preparation, recovery and follow-up

Preparation covers your medical information, any tests the team requests, medication review and written pre-operative instructions. You will be told what to bring and what to arrange before you travel.

After the procedure, you receive written aftercare instructions and scheduled reviews, and contact continues after you return home. Recovery is individual and is discussed in your own plan rather than in general terms.

Frequently asked questions

Does every patient receive the same technique?

No. The appropriate technique depends on your anatomy, your goals and the medical evaluation.

Is an open or a closed approach better?

Neither is universally better. The choice is a clinical decision based on your case.

Can functional and aesthetic concerns be addressed together?

They are assessed together, and whether they are addressed in one plan is a medical decision.

Who decides my technique?

The clinician handling your case, after reviewing your information and assessment.
